Pitahaya and honey

Honey and pitahayas are two foods that are perfect for regular consumption. Both are a great source of nutrients and minerals for your everyday life. A healthy box with plenty of benefits:

• Our honey has no expiry date, but all our jars do display a best before date. By keeping the fruit in a cool place, the pitahayas can last up to two weeks. By storing the fruit in the fridge, you'll naturally delay the ripening process, which means that the fruit will keep for longer.

Our farm, Finca Peña Alta, is located in the village of Artana, Castellón, within the Sierra de Espadán Nature Park. The geographical features of our area create natural shelter in the form of a horseshoe that protects us from the chilly north winds and gives us beautiful views of the sea.

Although our farm has been growing oranges for more than thirty years, a few years ago we decided to plump for new tropical crops, becoming pioneers in the sustainable cultivation of tropical fruit, such as pitahayas, in our area. As a result, our honey is the result of a mixture of orange blossom and avocado flowers that our bees land on during the pollination period. 

The natural barrier of the mountains means that we can grow our pitahayas in a sustainable and environmentally friendly way. 

At TropiTop we work with a passion for the countryside, handed down from generation to generation, with a commitment to quality and flavour in all our products. 

As new-generation farmers, we're more aware of climate change and looking after the environment, as well as our immediate surroundings, so a few years ago we decided to change our farming methods to a more sustainable style of agriculture. We don't use pesticides, chemicals, or storage or ripening chambers.

Our family farm is currently undergoing an exciting conversion process and we keep on working consciously to improve every day and become more and more sustainable. So much so that we pick all our fruits by hand and upon request, which preserves all the quality and freshness until they arrive at your front door. 

Our wildflower honey is completely natural, as we don't use any chemicals or harmful products on our crops. The bees live in harmony with us and our fruits.
