What happened to our Peña Alta farm in Artana, Castellón?
The La Vall d'Uixó wildfire, which started on 25 July 2026, devastated our Peña Alta farm in Artana, Castellón. We have lost almost all of this year's harvest, along with many years of hard work and dedication.
What exactly does “sponsoring a tree” mean?
It means purchasing the harvest of an avocado tree. You choose its name and the size of your harvest, and your purchase helps us care for and replant the trees destroyed by the fire. It also helps us recover financially from the lost harvest and the future production losses caused by the wildfire.
Will I receive avocados from Peña Alta, the farm affected by the fire?
No. Peña Alta is now entering a recovery phase. Your avocados will come from our other farms, which were not affected by the fire. You will receive your harvest as usual, with the same quality as always.
So, how will my money be used?
Your contribution goes directly towards rebuilding Peña Alta: replanting the lost trees, replacing infrastructure damaged by the fire, such as the irrigation system, and compensating for the production and harvest that we will not be able to sell this year.
Is this a donation?
No. It is a genuine purchase: you are paying for an avocado harvest that will be delivered to your home. The difference is that, right now, every sponsorship also represents another step towards the recovery of Peña Alta.
When will I receive my avocados, and which variety will they be?
If you choose Bacon avocados, which have smooth skin, you can schedule your boxes for delivery from October onwards. If you prefer the Hass variety, you will need to schedule your boxes from December onwards. Your harvest will be sent in 4 kg boxes, and you can plan your deliveries from your customer account.
How much harvest can I sponsor?
You can choose between 8, 12, 16 or 20 kg of harvest. We will send your harvest in 4 kg boxes.
Are the avocados organic?
Our crops have been undergoing conversion to organic farming since 2020, in accordance with the requirements of the European Union organic farming certification.
Are delivery costs included?
No. Delivery costs are paid separately from the sponsorship price. Each 4 kg box has a delivery charge, which is calculated and paid when you schedule and confirm each shipment from your customer account.
